I googled Dane Federer and this came up

copy and past this link http://www.kidkountry.com/usa/kidtalent.php?id=FD48491AB0

(Age: 13, Tempe, Arizona -U.S., ) Dane has been skating for three years and is sponsored by Tail Devil and most recently Ollie Pop. Dane first started skating in 5th grade with his first board a World Industries. Dane first started skate boarding by just rolled down his driveway over and over and over. He kept doing it all day until he learned how to turn and he has been progressing more and more each and every day. Whether it is a 10-stair handrail, playing a game of S. K. A. T. E, or just riding to school, skating is Dane’s passion.

In 6th grade, Dane broke his arm in gym class and had a metal plate and six screws put in to hold his bone together. He wasn't able to skate for eight weeks and it drove him crazy. He would sneak his board out and grind on this little curb by his friend’s house. He just had to skate! He has since moved to a new house and has improved his skill even further. He then fell skating and shattered his thumb but this time he continued to skate with a cast on. Eighth grade saw Dane fall again while skating and had a compound fractured of his left arm. He had to have two six inch rods placed into the bones in his arm. And once again he was unable to skate for three months.

While he was recuperating, he emailed fellow KidKountry.com skater Skyler Siljeg. Dane told Skyler about his injuries and Skyler sent Dane some stickers and now they have become very close. Once Dane was allowed to skate again from his broken arm, he fell and broke my collarbone. The inspirational part of this story is that when you love doing something the way Dane does, even a couple broken bones won’t get in your way of keeping you from your dreams!
